艾丽斯·芒罗,2013年诺贝尔文学奖得主。艾丽斯于1931年7月10日出生。她是2009年布克国际奖获得者,三次获加拿大总督奖。主要作品有《快乐阴影的舞蹈》、《女孩和女人的生活》、《你认为你是谁?》等。她的早期创作中,是一些刚刚进入家庭生活的女孩子,为爱情、性、背叛、孩子等苦恼;到后期,则是在中年危机和琐碎生活中挣扎的女性,但她们都有着欲望和遗憾,有着强大和软弱之处。

A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside and stay there for a while, wandering back and forth 1 and settling where you like and discovering how the room and corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows.
