Monica began her accomplished 1 musical career when she burst onto the scene with her multi-platinum 2 single For You I Will from the blockbuster1 movie Space Jam. On a roll, she continued her musical success with her follow-up album The Boy Is Mine which went double platinum in 1999.
This album went on to produce a Grammy Award winning duet2 entitled The Boy Is Mine. Monica had already built up a respected musical career with two certified 3 Double Platinum albums and three consecutive 4 No. 1 singles on the pop chart. She is the youngest artist to have two consecutive No. 1 hits on the Billboard 5 Charts.
Monica entered the fashion world when she was personally invited by Karl Lagerfeld to the House of Chanel in Paris; she embarked 7 on3 a four-day itinerary 84 that included MTV and Fashion Television tapings of her wardrobe5 selection.
This young star was also named one of “The 50 Most Beautiful People In the World 1999” by People magazine. After conquering the music world with continued success, Monica also expanded her talents into a film career. She was seen on the MTV movie entitled Love Song.
