English for Tourism

Lesson 24: Checking Out (continued)

Jack 1: Leo, I have a query 2. This amount, under newspapers.
Leo: Ah yes. I see the problem.
Leo: You’ve been charged for the local newspaper.
Jack: But Leo, I never ordered a local paper. I can’t read Chinese you
see.
Leo: You’re quite right.
Leo: I’m terribly sorry about that.
Leo: I’ll fix it right away.
Leo: There, problem fixed 3.
Jack: Thanks.
Jack: Leo, I have a query. This amount, under newspapers.
Leo: Ah yes. I see the problem. You’ve been charged for the local
newspaper.
Jack: But Leo, I never ordered a local paper. I can’t read Chinese you
see.

Leo: You’re quite right. I’m terribly sorry about that. I’ll fix it right
away.
Leo: There, problem fixed.
Jack: Thanks.
Leo: Ah yes. I see the problem. You’ve been charged for the local
newspaper.
see the problem, 我明白了。。。另外,利奥还说you’ve been
charged for …
样的短语: that’s for …..这是。。。
That’s for the dry cleaning.
I see the problem.
I see the problem.
You’ve been charged for the newspaper.
That’s for the newspaper.
You’ve been charged for the dry cleaning.
That’s for the dry cleaning.
Leo: You’re quite right.

Leo: I’m terribly sorry about that.
Leo: I’ll fix it right away.
Leo: There, problem fixed.
You’re quite right.
I’m terribly sorry about that.
I’ll fix it right away.
There, problem fixed.
Jack: Leo, I have a query. This amount, under newspapers.
Leo: Ah yes. I see the problem.
Leo: You’ve been charged for the local newspaper.
Jack: But Leo, I never ordered a local paper. I can’t read Chinese you
see.
Leo: You’re quite right.
Leo: I’m terribly sorry about that.
Leo: I’ll fix it right away.
Leo: There, problem fixed.
Jack: Thanks.

taxi?
Jack: It’s fine, Leo. We’ll get one outside.

Jack: Thanks, Leo. Here’s my card. When you come to study in
Melbourne, you’re welcome to call. We’ll show you some of the
tourist sights.
Leo: That’s a very kind offer, Jack. I might do that.
Jack: Thanks for everything. Bye.
Leo: Goodbye Jack. Enjoy your trip.
Mona: Leo, there is one other thing.
Leo: Yes?

Mona: Leo, there is one other thing.
Leo: Yes?
Mona: Thanks for all your help.
Leo: It was my pleasure. Goodbye, Ms White. Have a pleasant trip.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay.
Enjoy your trip.
Have a pleasant trip.
Have a safe journey
home.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay.
Enjoy your trip.
Have a pleasant trip.
Have a safe journey home.
Leo: Now, Ms White, if you’ll just sign here. Will you be requiring a
taxi?
Jack: It’s fine, Leo. We’ll get one outside.
Leo: Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay.
Jack: Thanks, Leo. Here’s my card. When you come to study in
Melbourne, you’re welcome to call. We’ll show you some of the
tourist sights.

Leo: Yes?

Mona: Thanks for all your help.
Leo: It was my pleasure. Goodbye, Ms White. Have a pleasant trip.

Leo: Good morning, Ms White, Mr Webber.
Jack: Good morning, Leo. Mona and I are checking out this morning.
We’re going hiking 4.
Mona: Yes. We’re going to the mountains. They’re a long way from
here.
Leo: Excellent. Could I have your keys please?
Leo: Two single rooms for three nights. Will you be paying separately 5?
Mona: No, we’re paying on the one card.
Leo: Fine. I’ll just print up your invoices 6. While you’re waiting, would
you mind filling out this client 7 satisfaction survey?
Leo: Here are your invoices.
Leo: Do you need a minute to look over them?
Mona: Oh, this isn’t right.
Mona: Leo, this laundry 8 bill seems too much.
Leo: Let me see. Hmm. That’s for emergency dry cleaning.
Mona: I can’t remember any dry cleaning.
Leo: Repairs to your hat, Ms White.
Mona: Sixty dollars?
Leo: It was cleaned at very short notice…and on a holiday.
However, I can query it if you like.
Mona: No, that’s OK.
Jack: Leo, I have a query. This amount, under newspapers.
Leo: Ah yes. I see the problem.
