That's the United Kingdom might be going through right now. The country's economy has been downed recently. If the UK is in recession 1, it will be the second one in 4 years. It's not the only coutry dealing 2 with the economic problems though. China has the world second largest economy. But it started slowing down late last year. Huge parts of Europe has been struggling besides the UK. And in the United States, the economy will sluggish 3 in the first quater, that's the first three months of this year. Britain younger workers have been hit especially hard by the financial crisis 4. Jim Boulden looks at how a major upcoming event is offering some opportunities and also examines how long that help might last.

The economic crisis has taken its toll 5 on Britain's youth. One million employees are now employed. That's more than 22% of these aged 6 16 to 24. It might be worse in London if it were not for the upcoming Summer Olympics. Some of the Olympic money has gone to helping 7 Olympic London's disvantageous use get job training. British Olympics gold medalist Kelly Holmes is also using her success to get London kids to see the benefits. Her charity uses athletics 8 to inspire young people.
What we found when we work with young people who want to get on the track program, is they are seeing that the whole of east london landscape changing. And that's really inspiration 9 for them, and new opportunities developing.
But by this autumn, the Olympics will be over, and many of the temperary jobs will go. So there are worries, that he legacy 10 will sort of peter away after the Olympics.
Well, I think that none of us should think anything is gonna be simple. We have a real responsibility to make sure that the legacy is the real legacy and left some .... beyond.
And much of the Youth training is nothing to do with the games. Some of those in the Holmes projects get training in London's top firms. Recruitment Agency Morgan Hunt is one.
These kids aren't aware of the skills they have. So they are coming to us, they are coming to legacy trust, with some skills but no real understanding of how it corelates to the business well. So these guys will come to do workshops with us on CVs or interviewing skills.
London's unemployed 11 youth don't always have a good reputation. Youth workers say many want to work. But the bus around the Olympics won't last, and the youth unemployment rate is already near record heights. Jim Boulden, CNN, London.
