John: Hello there, this is Real English from BBC Learning 1 English, I’m John.
Fei Fei: 大家好，我是冯菲菲。
John: The English language is changing all the time, and Real English is your chance to hear the most up to date words and phrases that you probably won’t find in a dictionary.
Fei Fei: 在今天的地道英语种我们要学习的短语是 leave it out ，意思就是停止做一件事情，这个短语有加重语气的效果，意思就是快停下！Stop it! Leave it out 还可以用来表示不相信一个人。
John: I think mostly you would use the phrase “leave it out” with a surprised expression in your voice, and it’s not something you would normally 2 say when you were relaxed or cheerful.
Fei Fei: Sounds complicated 3. 我们一起听听应该怎么样正确使用这个短语！
John: OK, this man is travelling on the bus and is getting annoyed by a fellow passenger.
Example 1
A: This man next to me is really annoying me.
B: Why?
A: He keeps pushing me.
B: Now he’s picking up your bag!
A: Oi, leave it out!
Fei Fei: 我们刚刚听到了 leave it out 的另一种使用方法，表示停下来。 Now, can we hear how else the phrase is used?
John: OK, this man is trying to buy a car and the price is unbelievable!
Example 2
A: How much is this car?
B: Looks as if it should be cheap.
C: It’s 1 million RMB.
A: Leave it out, you must be joking!
Fei Fei: 这辆车的价钱贵的惊人，实在是让人难以接受，难怪他用了 leave it out 来表示他的惊讶和不相信。
