A CAREFUL DRIVER
laurance--There's a good chance 1 that Mary
will get home today.
soony--Teah.I had 2 a letter from her friend,Susan,

laurance--Well, I hope 6 she drives carefully 7.You know
how the traffic 8 is this time of year.
soony--Oh.Mary's a good driver--and pretty careful,too.
I don't think we need to worry about her being 9

laurance--true,but,nonetheless,that doesn't mean that
all the other drivers are careful.There are
a lot of wild 11 drivers out there.
soony--I have confidence 12 in Mary.She's very good about
driving defensively.

about her being careless:her being careless 是复合宾语
nonetheless:(副词)然而,不过.=however,nevertheless
drive defensively:意思是开车时谨慎小心
