It will be another challenging day for the airlines and their passengers as they try to get their planes back in the air. Adelaide flights will resume shortly with Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra following as today progresses. But it’s likely to take days to clear the big backlog 1.

British police have arrested a 19-year-old man suspected of being involved in hacking 2 attacks on websites in Britain and the United States. There’s been a series of attacks on business and government websites including the CIA, the US Senate and Sony. The arrest was part of the joint 3 operation between Scotland Yard and the FBI.
The former Prime Minister Bob Hawke is in a Sydney hospital this morning, being treated for a minor 4 chest complaint. It’s understood the 81-year-old was admitted to St Vincent's Private Hospital with chest congestion 5 following an overseas trip. The ABC’s been told it’s not serious.
And the New Zealand city of Christchurch has been hit by another night of aftershocks. The most powerful was a 5.3-magnitude tremor 6 which struck about 30 kilometres south-east of the city. It caused power outages but no additional damage.
