First to the satellite image. Further massive cloud across Western Australia is in a deepening trough that's causing rain from the state's northwest all the way down towards the southeast. We'll see some heavy rain along the Pilbara coast. Cloud is also spreading into southern New South Wales as a strong cold front across southeast New South Wales this morning. Winds will ease by tomorrow, but another stronger front will pass the southeast on Wednesday and that will link with the low. So get ready for plenty of snow this week.
Around the states:
In Queensland, drizzle 1 about the tropics but despite the high cloud over parts of the south, it will be a mostly fine day.
New South Wales, strong and gusty 2 southwesterly winds, possible isolated 3 showers over southern and central inland areas. And we'll see snow falling on the Alps.
A frosting morning over inland Victoria, isolated showers over southern and mountain areas. On the ranges this morning, snow down to 900 metres.
In Tasmania, snow down to 600 metres by the evening, it should be back up to 1,000. Showers across the west.
South Australia, a cold morning with isolated showers across the south, most of them falling in the southwest. Fifteen degrees in Adelaide.
Western Australia has got patchy rain and storms over the Goldfields, Eucla and southern interior but a sunny day for Perth 19. Also a heavy rain about the Pilbara and Gascoyne. Sunny for the Kimberley and across the Northern Territory, but there is a chilly 4 shower with southeasterly winds.
Around the country tomorrow. A little rain for Canberra, heading for just 11 degrees. A shower or two in Adelaide 14. A sunny day for both Darwin and Perth.
