The man dubbed 1 the 'Honeymoon 2 Killer 3' has been released from jail in Queensland. Gabe Watson is now off to a detention 4 centre, awaiting deportation 5 back to the United States. The Federal Government has asked Watson to sign a document acknowledging that he could face the death penalty when he's returned to the United States. But Alabama has already assured Australia Watson won't face that penalty if he's sent home. And Watson's lawyer says he doesn't understand why the Government needs an extra guarantee.
The problems with those Rolls-Royce A380 engines keep on coming. Lufthansa is the latest airline forced to replace an A380 when problems were detected with the engine. Singapore Airlines has grounded three of its Airbuses so far. And this morning, Qantas has told us that its fleet of A380s will remain grounded until an investigation 6 into its engines is complete.

Fairfax reports this morning the Greens have walked away from doing a preference deal with Labor 7, and they are likely to do one with the Liberals instead.
New South Wales Labor powerbroker Joe Tripodi is set to announce that he won't contest this March state election. Now he's the latest in a long line of Labor MPs to jump ship. Mr Tripodi was key in installing Labor's last three premiers 8. He's been in parliament since 1995.
