Looking at the satellite image, cloud over the southwest is triggering showers and potentially severe storms. A cloud band stretching from Western Australia to New South Wales in a westerly airstream is bringing patchy rain. Cloud over Queensland, northern WA and the Northern Territory is in a trough causing showers and storms.
Taking a close look around the states for tomorrow, there will be some patchy rain in the southwest with showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. A cool to cold day over the west and the southern interior.
New South Wales can expect rain in the north and isolated 1 showers in the southern and central regions.
Scattered 2 showers and isolated thunderstorms extending throughout Victoria. Showers becoming widespread and tending to rain about the eastern ranges later. Snow developing above 1,200 metres on the eastern ranges overnight.
Rain about the north and west for Tasmania but easing later. Patchy rain in the south and east, increasing in the afternoon.
In South Australia, widespread showers over the southeast with isolated thunderstorms and small hail possible southeast of Adelaide.
Scattered showers across parts of WA, with a chance of a thunderstorm in the north.
The Northern Territory can expect monsoonal 3 showers and storms in the Top End and scattered showers. And isolated storms clearing in the far south.
Looking ahead to Monday around the capitals now: Brisbane rain, but clearing early. Sydney windy. Melbourne, showers and windy. A few showers in Hobart.
