Another messy breakup for the cable news bad boy Keith Olbermann, the anchorman both loved and loathed 1 for his on and off era that he has just been canned, and this time it’s a former vice 2 president of the United States of America who gave him the boot. And Olbermann is now suing. Our Ron Clayboard is back with that story. Ron, good morning.

Sounds like de javu, doesn’t it?

Yes

Well, Olbermann is one of the most controversial TV host in the country and oh, he’s done it this time again, clashing with the management of former president Al Gore 3’s liberal cable channel where he was working, that’s right, was as in the past tense.

Brandy Mean from New York, this is a good scene,  black a drain deal, liberal Keith Olbermann on Al Gore’s progressive channel current, but the countdown to a nightmare took less than a year. It would be comical if it were not tragic 4, Olbermann fired again, in a very public spat 5 with his bosses. Al Gore and his partner saying in stark 6 language that they founded their network on values of respect, openness, collegiality and loyalty 7 to our viewers, unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann.

It’s surprising to watch Al Gore who swore he knew how to handle Keith Olbermann, essentially 8 throw in the towel(stop trying to do something because you realize you can’t succeed.) and say, he and current TV don’t  line up any more.

But Olbermann is not going quietly, saying in a tweet that he’ll sue, claiming the accusations 9 are “untrue and will be proven so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently”. Reportedly getting $50 million for 5 years, Olbermann complained about technical problems, then he missed days at work. But tension is nothing new for him.

“This advice Mr. Bush, shut the hell up.”

Considered one of the smartest, he’s also one of the most temperamental personalities 10 on television.

“You’re a fascist 11, get them to print you a T-shirt with fascist on it.”

Getting into fights with bosses and leaving in half is sort of what makes him tick, so that’s why it wasn’t altogether surprising when he left.

But unlike at MSNBC,

“In the mundane 12 world of television goodbyes, reality is laughably uncooperative.”

Olbermann didn’t get to say goodbye to his latest countdown audience, his replacement 13 laid into the seat was barely unmentioned.

“Good evening, I’m Eliot Spitzer, welcome to current new APM show Viewpoint. “
