The excitement increased with each goal. The students ages 5 to 11 watched the World Cup at Tierra del Fuego.
Even though they weren't even born the last time Argentina won the World Cup in 1986, this story was almost the same in many schools in Argentina.
I love it. It was great. We were better than Germany, says this girl. When asked who is their favorite player, they had no doubts, Riquelme, says this boy. Javier Saviola, says this other one, because I have his T-shirt, and for me, Messi, adds a third one, because he plays very well. At the end of the game, many followed a local tradition---gather around the Río Negro, a symbol that has made Buenos Aires famous around the world.
