Well...for a westerner, I spent my fresh year of Chinese New Year celebrations. When I lived in hong kong as a child, my favorite day was the last day of Chinese New Year— "yuanxiaojie" or Lantern Festival.

Now when I was living in Taiwan, I lived with Taiwanese host family. During the new year we spent many days eating, the host family even gave me red packets.
当我住在台湾时住在台湾人的寄宿家庭。在新的一年里我们很多天都在吃东西，寄宿家庭甚至给了我红包。
One of my favorite New Year's food is tangyuan, it's a sweet rice ball with black sesame oil and peanut sauce inside which served in sweet soup. It's normally served on yuanxiaojie, my favorite day of Chinese New Year.
我最喜欢的新年食物是汤圆，是一个甜的糯米球，里面有黑麻油和花生酱，盛在甜汤享用。它通常在元宵节吃，中国新年里我最喜欢的那一天。
