B: Oh, it's at end of the street, Across from the church.

A: OK, I see it, thanks. Across from the church.

2. A: Could you tell me where the entrance to the subway is?

B: Sure, You see that bank down there on the left?

A: Yes.

B: Well, it's just after the bank, between the bank and the bus station.

A: Between the bank and the bus station. Thanks.

3. A: Which building is the Department 1 of Immigration 2, please?

B: Oh, it's that building down there on your right.

A: Which one?

B: The third building on your right.

A: The third... oh, OK, thank you.

B: Sure.

4. A: Excuse me, Is there a parking 3 lot anywhere around here?

B: Yes, There is one near the end of the street, it's behind the church.

A: OK, thanks lot.

5. A: Is there a taxi stand on this street?

B: Oh, let me see. Oh, yes, there is one in front of the bank.

A: Oh, yes, I see it.

A: Good morning! Mrs Rivera.

B: Good morning!

A: Are you and your family settled 4 in now?

B: Yes, finally, thank you.

A: And how do you like pleasantville?

B: It seems very nice and quiet, I want to find out where the things are in the town.

A: Well, that's not difficult in pleasantville. You can see everything on one walk down main street. Let me tell you what you'll find on the part of main street near us. Now if you have any problem--and I don't think you will--call or go to the police station on the corner of the First and Main. The post office is next to the police station and across the street from the A&H hardware 5 store. Now walk up main, pass the park, the library, and town hall. There are nice little restaurant right past the park on the corner of the Main and Second. It's on the right-hand side of the street.

B: Does the restaurant serve breakfast, lunch and dinner?

A: No, just breakfast and lunch, On Fourth and Main is the, uh, Big Apple Supermarket, it's on the same side as the library and town hall, It's pretty big store and it has just about everything.

B: Uh, good.

A: The town Movie Theatre is right across the street from the supermarket on the left...No, on the right-hand corner of Fourth and Main as you come, Hmm, as you come from the park.

B: Uh, let's see. Uh, Is there anything else on main before Fourth?

A: Oh, yes, there's lovely little hotel. It's between the restaurant and the movie theatre. You can't miss it. It's a lovely little hotel with lots of gorgeous 6 flowers in front. Now you continue down Main...

B: Excuse me, Mrs. O'Malley, You are very kind and helpful but I have to go. I have something on the stove 7.

A: Well, I see, just remember,if you need anything, be sure so let me know.

B: I'll be sure to. Thanks.

Listening, Following these intructions and doing these exercises.

1. A: Excuse me, Can you tell me where the nearest bank is?

B: The nearest bank, yeah, the closest one is on Washington 8 street.

A: Where is that?

B: OK, go left, At the corner, turn right, and go straight for three blocks 9, You'll see the bank, I think it's the Town and Country Bank, On the left.

A: So at the corner right, and strainght for three blocks, thanks.

B: You are welcome.

2. A: Pardon me, How do I get to Porter 10 streen from here?

B: I'm not from around here, You'd better ask someone else.

A: Excuse me, How do I get to Porter streen from here?

C: Porter Street... Porter Street, Oh, yeah, Not far at all. Go right here and go down Eighth street... Uh, that's left at Eighth. Take the second left, That's Center Street, At the next steet you'll come to a traffic light.

A: On Center street or Eighth?

C: On Center, At the light, turn right, the next street is Porter.

A: OKay, Thanks a lot.

3. A: I looking for the subway station.

B: Are you going by car or on foot?

A: On foot, Why? is that far?

B: Well, It's a good fifteen minute walk.

A: That is okay.

B: Go down to the corner and turn right at sixth.

A: Yeah.

B: Walk two blocks turn the left, That's Jackson Street, The station is on jackson about a quarter of a miles from sixth.

A: So, I turn right the corner and at the second street, I turn left and go down Jackon.

That'll take me right to the station.

B: That's right.

4. A: Excuse me, Do you know where the center hotel is?

B: You must mean the one on the Center Street, right?

A: Yes, that's the one.

B: Go right and turn left at the corner.

A: The street there? Eighth street?

B: Yeah, that's Eighth, go straight down Eighth, and at the first traffic light turn left.

A: left at the light.

B: I think the hotel's the second building on the left.

A: Second building on the left. I got it, Good, Thanks.

B: You're welcome.
