China remains confident of improving growth in its foreign trade. That was the word from Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng in an interview during the two sessions.
“In comparison to last November and December, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have lowered their global economic growth forecasts twice. Currently trade continues to be sluggish,” Gao said.
“The foreign exchange market and commodities prices fluctuate severely on uncertainties and risks. It’s realistic to make a qualitative rather than quantitative index.
“The government work report mentioned stabilization of trade growth. It doesn’t mean relaxing on the trade target. Instead, it shows our confidence to improve trade.”
