Today marks the beginning of Summer, according to traditional Chinese calendars, which divide the year into 24 solar terms.
And Chinese people are marking this start of the seventh solar term - known as "Lixia" - with various forms of feasting. In eastern China's Zhejiang Province, for example, pickled duck eggs are on the menu, along with glutinous rice and rice-flour sculptures.
Meanwhile, in western Guizhou Province, families gather for a special meal with mixed beans in rice.
In the Gregorian calendar, "Lixia" usually begins around May the 5th and ends around May the 21st.
