China's judicial work last year was closely tied with the country's continuing anti-graft drive. A total of 22 Chinese ex-officials at ministerial level or above, were prosecuted last year including China’s former security chief Zhou Yongkang, former head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Jiang Jiemin, as well as Li Dongsheng, former vice minister of Public Security.
41 officials at ministerial level or above. were subject to formal investigations, they include Ling Jihua and Su Rong, both former vice chairmen of top political advisory body CPPCC.
Meanwhile, Chinese courts have concluded trials for Zhou Yongkang, and 15 other former senior officials, this shows "the country's resolute determination in stamping out corruption."
