China's yuan eased against the dollar on Wednesday after the central bank fixed a softer midpoint. The central bank set the official benchmark exchange rate at 6.5106 per dollar, easing 0.1 percent from the previous fix.
In the spot market, the yuan opened at 6.5121 per dollar and was changing hands at around 0.12 percent stronger than the previous close. Traders expect the yuan to move in line with the midpoint in the near term as the central bank tries to stabilize the currency and depreciation pressure eases.
