Russian's ambassador to the UK is suggesting the international community is not willing to associate itself with the UK and the US over the poisoning of Sergei Skripal.The comments came after Russia's proposal for a joint 1 inquiry 2 into the case has been voted down at a meeting of Organization for the Prohibition 3 of Chemical Weapons.The Russian ambassador says it is now the UK's responsibility to show the results of its investigation 4 to the rest of the world.At a UN Security Council meeting, Moscow's UN ambassador says Britain's main goal is "to discredit 5 and even delegitimize" Russia with unsupported accusations 6.In response, Britain's UN representative likened Moscow's requests to take part in the investigation to an arsonist 7 investigating his own fire.Meantime, Yulia Skripal, daughter of the poisoned spy, has issued a statement saying the "entire episode is somewhat disorientating".The 33-year-old said in a statement issued on her behalf by London metropolitan 8 police that she woke up over a week ago.Relations between Russia and the West have been strained after former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious on a bench outside a shopping center in Britain's Salisbury early March.The British Government blamed Russia for the use of military-grade novichok in the attempted murder. Moscow has denied the accusations.Several US officials say the U.S. is set to impose its most aggressive sanctions yet on Russian oligarchs later on this Friday.
