US President Donald Trump 1 has signed a memorandum 2 that could impose tariffs 3 on 60 billion US dollar worth of imports from China.The unilateral move comes despite strong warnings from business groups and trade experts from both countries.In the memorandum signed Thursday, Trump directed U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to publish a list of proposed Chinese goods that could be subject to tariffs in 15 days, while the U.S. Treasury 4 Department will have 60 days to propose restrictions 5 on Chinese investment in the US.China has said it will take all necessary measures to resolutely 6 defend its legitimate 7 rights and interests.
