The Chinese Foreign Ministry says China is very concerned about the unprecedented scale of the joint ROK-US drills, adding it is resolutely opposed to any provocations on the Korean peninsula.
"The Korean peninsula is linked with China by mountains and rivers, and China has major concerns over maintaining stability on the peninsula. China is resolutely against any provocations there, and it will by no means allow any chaos or wars happening outside its doorstep,"
"We strongly hope that all the relevant sides can show restraint and refrain from mutual-provocations or exacerbating tensions," said Hong Lei, spokesman of China's Foreign Ministry.
