这首where did you sleep last night讲诉的是一个女孩在夜晚回家的路上被人杀害，第二天人们在树林里发找到了她。歌曲的叙诉几乎是战栗的，灵魂中的愤怒和痛恨在每一句歌词和每一声弦音中是那么的清晰！以至于主唱Kurt Cobain几乎是用沥血的自伤式唱出来。给人一种十足的震撼力！
1993年除夕，乐队应邀参加MTV台主办的“不插电”音乐会，在唱完最后一首《WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT》之后，cobain声音沙哑，在如潮的掌声当中，他抬起低垂的头，用忧郁的眼神看着大家，然后发出了一声全世界都无法逃避的叹息。4个月后，cobain独自举起猎枪，向自己的头部射出了一颗绝望的子弹。他结束了自己27岁的生命，以此做为最后的反抗。4月10日，超过5000名乐迷在西雅图的一个公园内为他举行追悼会……
