Kentaro: Alright
 
Todd: Where do you want to go?
 
Kentaro: I want to go to Thailand.
 
Todd: Thailand. Why Thailand?
 
Kentaro: Well, I love that country. The people, the food and the culture.
 
Todd: OK, and how would you get there?
 
Kentaro: Well, I guess from Narita Airport.
 
Todd: OK, how long would it take to get there?
 
Kentaro: Approximately 7 hours I would say.
 
Todd: 7 hours , that's not too bad. What would you eat in Thailand?
 
Kentaro: I would eat Thai food which is something like Pat 1 Thai, which is a Thai noodle, or Tom Yang Gung, which is a Thai soup.
 
Todd: OK, is it spicy 2?
 
Kentaro: It's spicy.
 
Todd: Really. OK, how long would you stay?
 
Kentaro: As long as I can.
 
Todd: OK, Yeah. So.
 
Kentaro: As long as I don't get fired.
 
Todd: OK, Thailand has nice beaches and nice mountains. Which do you prefer the beaches or the moutains?
 
Kentaro: I prefer the beach.
 
Todd: The beach.
 
Kentaro: The beach. It's cold here. It's getting warm but I like warm weather.
 
Todd: OK, yeah, yeah. I miss the beach. I'm from California, we have nice beaches.
 
Kentaro: Oh, another beach person.

We're going to talk about destinations.
 
A "destination" is the place a person travels to or the location you traveling to.  We also use "destination" for the place that something is being sent.  Notice the following:

I love Thailand. The people, the food and the culture.
 
The "culture" of a place is the social habits, beliefs and norms 3 of the people who live there.  Notice the following:

approximately
 
Approximately 7 hours I would say.
 
You can use the word "approximately" when you don't know the exact amount of something like time, money, distance, etc.  Notice the following:
 
He works 4 approximately 10 hours a day.
The beach is approximately 100 miles from here.
spicy
 
Is Thai food spicy?
 
"Spicy" food contains chili 5 peppers.  It makes your mouth feel hot and sometimes makes your eyes cry.  Notice the following:
 
The soup was so spicy that I couldn't eat it.
Do you like spicy food?
fired
 
As long as I don't get fired.
 
To get "fired" from a job is when you lose your job because you did something wrong and your boss is angry.  Notice the following:
 
Has he ever fired any employees?
He got fired from his last job.
