But local government denied that the suicide was connected to a new rule on cremation.
According to a notice from Anqing government on March 25, all corpses 11 must be cremated 12 after June 1st.
Anqing was one of two cities in the province which still allowed coffin 9 burial. At the end of 2013, only 11 percent of deceased in the city were cremated, far lower than the provincial 13 average of 80 percent.
