2018年CRI Golden Goblet Awards jury in Shanghai for a discovery trip

Emmy nominated US film producer David Permut is currently in Shanghai, joining other juries to appraise 1 and select films nominated for the Golden Goblet 2 Awards.
He called his maiden 3 experience of participating in the film festival a discovery trip.
"I'm aware of the festival, but I've never been. So it's my first experience at the festival, and especially as the jury now. So it's very honored. You know, the Shanghai International Film Festival, gives me personally as a producer an opportunity to educate myself to find out who the new filmmakers are that are emerging; who the established filmmakers are that I do not familiar with and it's a major opportunity to be here."
Permut's collaboration 4 with Chinese filmmakers dates back to 1997 as he produced the action blockbuster Face/Off, directed by John WOO.
