Rescue and recovery operations are still underway after the crash of a passenger plane in Taipei yesterday.
So far, 31 people are confirmed dead, while 12 others remain missing, after a TransAsia flight crashed into the Keelung River shortly after take-off.
The search for the missing is still underway.
Among the 58 people onboard, 31 are mainland tourists.
China's central leadership, including President Xi Jinping and Premier 1 Li Keqiang, have send condolences to the victims' families, and are promising 2 to provide any help necessary.
China's central bank is lowering the reserve requirement ratio for this country's banks by 50 basis points today.
This is the first across-the-board cut in the reserve requirements since May 2012.
On top of this, the central bank is cutting the reserve requirements for banks which focus more on lending to small and micro-sized enterprises, as well as the farming sector 3, by an additional 50-basis points.
The move comes just days after the purchasing managers' index, a main gauge 4 of manufacturing activity, fell below 50 for the first time since October 2012.
