China's first-lady has met with a group of Australian students in Beijing.
President 1 Xi Jinping's wife, Peng Liyuan, has met with 22 sixth-graders from Tasmania.
The young Australians have come here on the personal invitation 2 from the Chinese President, who met with the students while he was visiting in Australia last year.
"We have visited the Great Wall. It was a fantastic sight for the first day. Later that day, we saw the well-known pandas at Beijing Zoo. It was a great start to our trip. Then next day we went to Jingshan School to meet Chinese students, friends for life. We also went sightseeing to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden 3 City. A wonderful experience."
Peng Liyuan says she hopes the trip to China will encourage the young students to learn more about this country.
"Your visit is an important cultural 4 and educational exchange between Australia and China, which is of great significance 5. I hope you will continue to study China's language and culture and be young ambassadors 6 for China-Australia friendship."
