Cardinal Pell was archbishop of Melbourne between 1996 and 2001. Now the committee will conclude its public hearings this week. It's dued to report its findings before October.
A former nurse goes on trial today, accused of murdering 11 patients after afire at a Sydney nursing home. Roger Dean stands accused of deliberately 5 starting the blaze thatdestroyed the Quakers Hill nursing home in November, 2011. Some residents died during the fire, while others died later from their injuries. The trial is expected to last four weeks.
And trainer Gal 6 Waterhouse will be back before the more joyous 7 inquiry today.She's been charged with not telling stewards 8 about the mare's condition and failing to keep records of its treatment. Mr Waterhouse has pleaded not guilty.
