-Police are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting in Sydney's southeast. Police say two were standing 5 outside a block or flat in Eastlakes when shots were fired from a car. One of the men died at the scene. The other man is in a serious condition in hospital.
 
-The Federal Government is still weighing up the cost of moving more quickly to an emissions 6 trading scheme. Deputy Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the government has received advice on how much this would cost. The carbon tax isn't due to move to a floating price for another two years.
 
- Egypt interim 7 ruler is urging restrain after more than 50 people were killed outside an army barracks in Cairo. Ali Morsi has ordered an enquiry into the death. The Muslim brotherhood 8 says the army open fire on the supporters while they were holding a sit-in. 
 
-A new report has found a number of people taking up the free national bowel 9 cancer's screening program has fallen. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare says only 35% of 930,000 people eligible 10 for this screening took part in the past year. And that's down from38% three years ago.
