Nearly a hundred heads of state, including President Barack Obama are expected to gather Tuesday in South Africa to honor Nelson Mandela. Among those listed in the program are Obama, U.N. Secretary-Genegral Ban Ki-Moon and Cuban President Raul Castro.
Vice 1 President Joe Biden honored Mandela by signing a condolence book at the South African Embassy in Washington.
Test results show 11 whales found dead Sunday in the Florida Keys were emaciated 2 and suffering from malnutrition 3. The whales are believed to be part of a pod of 51 orginally found stranded 4 on an Everglades beach last week.
And officials in Newtown, Connecticut are asking for privacy as it marks the first anniversary of the shooting that left 20 children and 6 staffers dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
