Reading is one of the most important ways to judge a person's command of a foreign language. There are two effective ways to improve reading comprehension.
Reading widely is of primary importance. Reading is basically a process in which a reader tries to get the messages in a language. Many people have the mistaken idea that a good understanding of English grammer is equal to good reading skill. Yet, we often find that this is untrue. Only we concentrate on the meanings rather than the forms of language, do we understand what we read. And the more we read, the better we will understand.
Building a large vocabulary is also very important. First, we can enlarge our vocabulary by reading English articles and books in various fields. Onlu by coming across new words and phrases repeatedly can restore them in our memories. Secondly 1, memorizing words from vocabulary list may also be helpful.
