简 介
Margot and the nuclear so and so's这支来自加拿大的乐队,最初的成立是因为词曲人Richard Edwards和Andy Fry在Fountain Square的一家宠物店的偶遇。Richard当时正买了一只小猫并打算给它起名Margot，而Andy正在寻觅一只钟意的蜥蜴，打算叫它"Mice"。他们二人机缘巧合的就开始了一番谈话，大概内容就是彼此的一些爱好。Richard承认他对Paul Simon和Pavement的偏好，而Andy则表达了他很喜欢Cardigans的音乐风格。二人短短的一番谈话，几乎是从毫无关联的陌生人一下碰撞出了在一起做音乐的火花。Richard从13、14岁的时候就开始词曲创作。他把一些作品给Andy听。所有凑巧的事情似乎总喜欢在一起发生，Andy很喜欢Richard的创作。于是，两人决定组成一支乐队。Andy找来他的哥哥Chris当鼓手。他们共同的一个朋友，Jesse Lee也加入了近来，负责提琴部分。在此之后，Richard又动员了自己的朋友Tyler Watkins和Emily Watkins加入乐队，演奏Bass和Rhodes。至此乐队基本骨架成型，后来在录音过程中，又吸收了Hubert Glova，负责小号演奏，为乐队的音乐整体效果润色不少。
这个乐队的风格，被他们自己定义为"chamber 2 pop"，与独立乐队Arcade Fire的风格相似，使用了很多浑厚的古典乐器（比如钢琴、小提琴、小号），有大段的弦乐演奏，散发着一种高雅的气质。
