世界上有接近4亿5千人被精神疾病所困扰。在发达国家，只有一半的患者接受了适当的治疗，在发展中国家，由于精神疾病医生的严重短缺，有接近90%的患者不能接受治疗。Vikram Patel 向我们指出了一个十分有前景的道路——培养社区成员，使得他们可以进行精神健康干预，这一举措也激励着普通人之间的相互关爱。
