CCTV9英语新闻：Zhang Dejiang gives speech at Belt & Road Summit

China’s top legislator is in Hong Kong, where he has given a key note speech at a forum on the Belt and Road cooperation initiative.

The Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, Zhang Dejiang, inspected the Government Secretariat of the Hong Kong SAR. He was briefed by principal officials of the SAR government on their work.
Zhang began a three-day inspection trip in the Special Administrative Region Tuesday. This is the first visit by a central government leader since 2012, when then-President Hu Jintao participated in the 15th anniversary celebrations of Hong Kong’s return to China.
As well as his attendance at the Belt and Road forum, Zhang will also meet with Hong Kong’s business and community leaders.
