CCTV9英语新闻：Joint security efforts needed for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

A Pakistani official says the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a flagship joint project that will help regional development. Pakistan's chief military spokesman Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa was speaking at a press conference on Tuesday.
Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa said both sides need to guarantee a safe environment for the construction of the economic corridor. China and Pakistan are celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations this year. The military spokesman expressed hope that the two countries could deepen communications and cooperation to tackle regional challenges, maintain regional peace and promote mutual development.
"China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative... as the concept goes, this will bring social and economic benefits to the people, and bring prosperity to them... This will also ensure great security," Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa said.
