Hi, everyone. I'm Asieh Namdar at the CNN.com newsroom in Atlanta. Here is a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.
At least 25 people are dead after a suicide car bomber 1 struck a market in northern Iraq. It happened near an army checkpoint. An Interior Ministry 2 official says 40 others are wounded. And farther north at least 4 civilians 3 were killed in Mosul when a tanker 4 truck blew up near an Iraqi army checkpoint.
Democrats 5 in Maine are holding caucuses 6 today. 24 delegates are at stake. Yesterday's contest tightened 7 the gap between Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. Obama is now just 61 delegates short of tying it up. On the Republican side John McCain is in the lead, followed by Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul.
Worship services and more funerals are planned today in Lafayette, Tennessee. 14 people died in the small town when deadly twisters tore through the south last week. In all, 59 people were killed.
On board the Shuttle Atlantis today's planned spacewalk is a no-go. NASA put it off until tomorrow after one of the shuttle astronauts got sick. Meantime, crew members are assessing two small tares 8 to the thermal 9 blankets on the shuttle to make sure they won't cause problems during reentry.
And 'Atonement' leads the pack at the BAFTAs. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts holds its annual awards tonight in London. 'Atonement' received 14 nominations 10, 'No Country For Old Men' and 'There Will Be Blood' are next with 9 nominations each.
And those are the headlines this hour. For more on these stories and other news of the day, CNN is your source online, on TV or when you're on the go.
