Hello. I’m Creshon Saunders at the CNN.com newsroom in Atlanta. Here is a look at what’s happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

But in the midst of the Georgia-Russia conflict, an Olympic embrace. Take a look. The rivals hugged and kissed each other on the medal podium. They face each other again in another pistol competition later this week.

And other Olympic news. There were no surprises on the hardwood today for the US men's basketball team, the Redeem 3 Team, as we are calling them took care of host nation China with ease, 101-70. It happened at the intersection 7 of Highway 61 in Casino Strip Boulevard. At least 7 medical helicopters are on the ground to take other passengers to a local hospital. John Edwards's former mistress Rielle Hunter will not seek a paternity test for her five-month-old daughter. Speaking through her attorney, Hunter says she wishes to maintain her privacy and the privacy of her child. Tabloids 9 have been reporting that the former presidential candidate fathered Hunter's baby, but Edwards denies the claim despite admitting to the affair. Friday Edwards admitted to an extramarital affair back in 2006, calling it (quote) “a serious error in judgment” and (quote) “his admission came after months of public denials”.
