Hello, everyone. I'm Creshon Saunders at the CNN.com Newsroom in Atlanta. Here is a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.
Iraq's government getting rid of some thirteen hundred Iraqi police and soldiers who don't do their jobs. A government spokesman says the men deserted 2, refused to fight or neglected their duties during last month's crackdown in Basra and other Shiite areas.
Kenya officially has a new prime minister. President Mwai Kibaki has named opposition 3 leader Raila Odinga to the post after the two ironed out their differences. They agree to share power after the violence that swept the country following December's election.
CNN is giving you a chance to step inside Warren Jeffs' Polygamist Compound in Texas. Salt Lake City's Deseret News got these pictures and talked to some of the people living there. The community is at the center of a sexual abuse probe. Authorities removed more than 400 children last week. Adults at the compound say they are angry and call the action unjustified. Also yesterday in Utah, Texas Rangers 4 tracked down and spoke 1 with 50-year-old Dale Evans Barlow. He is accused of abusing a 16-year-old girl who called in authorities. Barlow denies it and says he hasn't been in Texas since 1977. He is not under arrest.
Senator Barack Obama is working to defuse potential damage from a statement he made, saying working-class voters are bitter. Rival Hillary Clinton is using it as fresh ammunition 5 to slam Obama. In Indiana yesterday, Obama admitted the remarks were ill-chosen and tried to explain exactly what he meant.
"So I said, well, you know, when you are bitter, you turn to what you can count on. So people the other, they vote about guns or they take comfort from their faith and their family and their community. And they get mad about illegal immigrants who come over this country. Or they get frustrated 6 about how things are changing. That's a natural response. And now I didn't say it as well as I should have. "
It's one of the most popular stories on cnn.com right now. Britney Spears is back at the headline. Officials say she was involved in a minor 7 traffic accident last night. Her Mercedes hit another car during a stop-and-go traffic near L. A., but no one was injured. There was also no damage, so no tickets were issued. Last year Spears was involved in a hit-and-run incident and caught driving without a license 8.
