You worry about being copied.

Often we close ourselves off from otherpeople not because we're afraid that they will influence us but that we willinfluence them, that our brilliant ideas will be taken up by someone else and no longer be solely 1 ours.

So we avoid sharing our passions 2, andspend our energy jealously 3 guarding our “secret” rather than simply moving forward.
