  Unit 12 hesitate

conversation 1

Woman: Hi, Mr. Smith. what's new?

Man: Nothing particular. But,...

Woman: What's the matter?

Man: I, I don't know how to explain it to you.

Woman: Go ahead. It's nothing serious. We are good friends, aren't we?

Man: Yes, of course. But I'm afraid I can't tell you.

conversation 2

Woman: Oh, dear! which dress should I choose? I can't make up my mind. Please help me.

Man: You know I don't know anything about fashion.

Woman: Which dress do you like best?

Man: well, they are both all right.

Woman: Only all right?

Man: Oh, no. I mean you look very nice in both of them.

Woman: Mike, that's no help to me at all. I can't wear both of them at the same time. I want a decision.

Man: But after all, it is your decision, not mine.

Woman: Oh, yes. The green dress is very smart. but I can't be sure if it goes with a hat.

Man: You are not wearing a hat, are you?

Woman: I was going to

Man: But I am sure no one wears a hat these days.

Woman: No, I, I suppose they don't , but in a smart society.

Man: I honestly don't know. Do you think I should wear a suit?

Woman: I would have thought so.

Man: but surely with this summer weather, a sports coat will be all right.

Woman: But that sport coat is such allowed check. I don't think it will do for such a occasion 1.

Man: No, perhaps not.

woman: Oh, I feel like such a model.

Man: So do I. Perhaps we should just wear what we want to. A lot of people do these days. Or perhaps the answer is not to go at all.

Woman: You mean rather than make fools of ourselves. I do feel terribly tired.

Man: But then again , you did want to go.

Woman: Yes and I would regret missing 2 it. I wish you were decisive 3 husband instead of floundering.

Man: Me floundering about you are the one who is worrying: Should I wear this or Should I wear that. It's you who are not certain, not me.

Woman: That's why I need someone to tell me a way out.

Man: All right. I'll tell you what we'll do.

Woman: What?

Man: we'll toss 4 for it.heads you wear the white dress, tails wear the green. let money decides everything.

Conversation 3

Man: Did you say you saw lily alone?

Woman: Yes, nobody was with her.

Man: Where did you see she was?

Woman: In Thailand.

Man: I must say i think that is very odd 5. Are you absolutely certain it was her?

Woman: Yes. yes, I am sure.

Man: Because I don't want any, er, do you understand? But you are quite sure, are you?

Woman: Quite sure. I mean that hair of hers and the voice of hers.

conversation 4

Woman: Jack 6 I hear you have a chance to go to college without taking a test. Is that right?

Man: The news goes so fast. Ah , yes, I haven't decided 7 yet.

Woman: Don't hesitate. That's a very famous university which a lot of students are longing 8 to attain 9.

Man: Maybe you are right. But the major is not fit for me.I like architecture more than computers.

Woman: But this chance is really precious.

Man: Wow, I know. So I am thinking now.

Woman: I hope you can make a clever choice. Anyway, the opportunities around you are not that many.

Man: It isn't that easy. I hate to quit my present job. People around here are very nice and the work itself is challenging .

Woman: Then what about the salary? Would you get more?

Man: Yes. they say I would get a big sum.
