A scientific review published in the Journal of American Medicine shows that the field of genetics has made a lot of progress in recent years. According to JAMA, genetic 1 testing is able to identify more than 1,000 human genes 2 that can hold the keys to identifying risks of many diseases. But as VOA's Melinda Smith reports, much of that information is not getting to patients.
