A versus 1 B, both great. But your brain maybe processing the musical information differently for each. That's according to a research in the journal Neuron Image. For the study, volunteers had their brain scanned by functional 2 MRI. And they listened 2 musical medleys 3 containing songs from different genres 4. The scans identified brain regions that became active during listening. One medley included 4 instrumental pieces, and the other consists of songs from beside of Abbey Road. Computers algorithm were used to identify specific aspects of the music, which the researchers were able to match with specific activated 5 brain areas. The researchers found that vocal 6 and instrumental music get treated differently. Well, both hemispheres of the brain deals with musical features, the presence of lyrics 7, shifts the processing of musical features to the left auditory cortex. These results suggests that the brain's hemispheres are specialized 8 for different kinds of song processing. A finding revealed by what you might call instrumental analysis.
