2017年CRI Sodertalje and Wuxi celebrate 10th anniversary of sister cities

A group of Chinese officials and middle school students have taken part in an event in the Swedish community of Sodertalje, located around 30-kilometers southwest of Stockholm, to mark the 10th anniversary of a 'sister-cityhood' with the city of Wuxi in Jiangsu.
The delegation 1 from Wuxi has included 10 civic 2 officials, as well as 10 middle school students from the city.
Xu Ruiyu is with the Wuxi Municipal Government's office of Foreign Affairs.
"We think it is a very important occasion. So we try to encourage companies, businesses and city officials to have dialogue and communication to communicate with each other. I think what is more important is to let our children to understand each other's culture and also their background."
Besim Aho chairs Sodertalje's Municipal Assembly.
He says ties between his city and Wuxi create a unique opportunity for children to learn more about their cities, and their countries.
"I think our relations with Wuxi is very important on many things, we have exchange with Wuxi over the last ten years, and we are going to continue to have four years too. We from Municipality of Sodertalje think it is important to continue that relationship with (Wuxi) because we have many companies in Sodertalje, many small companies who can have relationship with companies in Wuxi, we have relationship, cooperation and exchanges from our schools. "
Events to mark the 10th anniversary have also included a concert, as well as a tour through the local art festival currently underway in Sodertalje.
