U.S. President Donald Trump 1's upcoming state visit to China on Wednesday has been highly anticipated by observers on both sides, with experts saying that they expect Trump's first state visit to China to further consolidate 2 bilateral 3 ties and promote peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.


Prior to the visit, CRI's New York Correspondent Qian Shanming sat down with Stephen Orlins, President of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, in New York City for an exclusive interview.


In their conversation, Orlins explained his expectations for Trump's upcoming visit and his understanding of the current and future U.S.-China relations.


The veteran on U.S.-China ties said that he hopes Trump will listen and learn from the Chinese side, work towards significant outcomes from the visit, lay a more solid foundation for both countries to further boost economic ties, enrich political understanding and work closely on tackling global challenges.
