The satellite shows a trough over eastern Australia causing rain, showers and storms for northern NSW and Queensland. Cloud associated with ex-tropical cyclone 1 Rusty 2 is producing rain in southern WA. While thick cloud covers the tropics.
Looking ahead around the states.
Now north and east Queensland will see rain and thunderstorms today with possible heavy falls. There will be isolated 3 showers over western Queensland, and it will be cooler than usual in the south.
There will be rain areas over northeast NSW, heaviest along the coast, showers will fall along the rest of the state's coast and adjacent ranges.
Victoria will be fine apart from isolated showers over Gippsland, contracting to east Gippsland during the day.
Tasmania will be fine apart from the chance of patchy morning drizzle 4 about the south and east coasts.
South Australia will have patchy rain over western areas with warm southeast to easterly winds. In the west, rain, showers and drizzle will fall over southern regions. Showers and thunderstorms will also affect the northern and eastern parts of the state.
And the top end will see scattered 5 showers along the coast with isolated afternoon storms in the northwest.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, a few showers for Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin. A sunny day for Melbourne and Perth. It will be partly cloudy elsewhere.
