Back to the weekend. We are ready to go, with a new day in the CNN Student News. Hi, everyone I'm Carl Azus. We are going to be all over the matt today.

Our first stop is in the Middle East. We've worried about Syrian Civil War for a while now, there have been concerns about the violence spreading to neighouring countris, like Turkey.  This weekend, two car bomb exploded in a Turkish town, it's on the border with Syria, at least 46 people were killed, around hundred of others were wounded. Turkish officials are blaming the attacks on Syria, and Syian official says the country  doesn't have anything to do with it. The fighting in Syria has spilled over the border into Turkey before. Turkey has increased security forces in the area, and its NATO allies have installed missile defend system there. Let's have it back now, across the Atlantic to Guatemala. On Friday, a group of Justice there reached a surprising verdict of a very important case, it ruled that this man efrain rios montt was guilty of genicide, a mass murder. Mot was a dictator who ruled Guatemala in part of the early 1980s, this is the first time that any countris' leader has been tried for genocide by his own judicial 1 system. While Montt was in power, more than 1,700 native Mayan, descendants of an ancient civilization, were killed by the Guatemala military. The country's current president, who was a military commander under Montt, denied this genocide ever happend. Legal expert is expecting Montt to appeal his conviction.
Is this legit? The IRS sets tax rates in the US.

Congress  sets taxes. it is the IRS' to collect those taxes.
Some groups do not have to pay taxes, for example, orgnizations that are in businesses to make profit. In order to get tax exempt 2 status, which is what it is called, those groups have to fill out an aplication and submit other checks from the IRS. Right now, the agency is being criticized over how they handle aplications from Tea party and other conservative groups. Tea party is actually more of a political movement that in recent elections that have been organized in opposition 3 to president Obama. It's made up of a bunch of groups from around the country. Members generally want fewer taxes and less government spending. In fact, 'tea' stands for ' taxes enough already'. A review of an IRS practices shows that some Tea Party groups that apply for tax exempt status might have been the target of discrimination from some of the IRS agency. The review says this might have started in 2010 and that offials of IRS knew about in 2011. What happened is that some IRS agents search for keywords like 'Tea party', if that showed up in the name of the group, the application was flagged for additional review. It contributes to the profound distrust that American people have in government, it is absolutely chilling that IRS is singling out the conservative groups for an extra review. The IRS director of tax exempt organization admitted that the agents used these keywords but he said that it is just a shortcut, not because of political bias 4. White House says if any rules were broken, the misconduct should be addressed.
The International space station has been leaking. NASA has known this for a while, but last week astronaut aboard the station noticed the leaking getting bigger. The orbitter is losing five pounds of ammonia per day. This is important, because ammonia is used to cool off some of the system electronics. NASA said it was not urgent threat to the people aboard, but it was a big enough deal that two of the six folks up there step out for a space walk next on saturday. Their mission: stop the leak. After more than five hours in appearance they had replaced a pump mechanism 5.It could be weeks or even months before we know for sure if that fix the problem. NASA is hopping 6 to use the station until at least the year 2020.
