Over 270 injured in Shanghai subway collision

More than 270 injured passengers have undergone hospital treatment in hospital, after a subway collision in central Shanghai yesterday afternoon.
CRI reporter Zhou Qiang was at the scene.
"The collision occurred after 2p.m. at a station on the Line 10. Police have cordoned 1 off the exit of the station when I got there at 3 p.m. Ambulances were rushing to the site to pick up the injured being taken out of the station. Most of them had waist, knee and head bruises 2, but these injuries were not serious."
Around two-thirds of the people taken to hospital have since been released.
It's thought a signaling failure was to blame.
The signaling system on Shanghai's Line 10 is designed by the same company that created the centralized control system that failed in Zhejiang, leading to the bullet-train crash that left 40-people dead.
Local authorities in Shanghai have now launched an investigation 3.
