Three founders 1 of Hong Kong's so-called Occupy movement have announced they will surrender themselves to police later on today.
Benny Tai, Chu Yiu-ming and Chan Kin-man are also urging other protesters to leave the Occupy areas.
The trio have also reportedly admitted they participated in gatherings 2 which may constitute a crime.
The move follows resent violent clashes between protesters and police which saw 11 police officers injured on Monday and some 40 demonstrators arrested.
The Occupy Central protests in Hong Kong have been underway since late September.
Taiwan's leader Ma Ying-jeou is due to step down as the chair of the ruling Kuomintang party later today.
In making the move, he says he's taking responsibility for his party's poor showing in this past weekend's local elections.
KMT vice-Chair Hung Hsiu-chu is expected to be named acting-chair until the party holds a new leadership election.
That's not expected to take place until January at the earliest.
Saturday's election saw the Kuomintang win just 6 out of 22 municipalities and counties.
The 64-year old Ma Ying-Jeou has led the KMT since 2009.
He had two more years to go in his second and final term as Taiwan's leader.
