Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping says China is willing to strengthen exchange with the Australian Labor 1 Party to jointly 2 promote the newly-announced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 3 between China and Australia.
As part of his meeting with Labor Party leader Bill Shorten, President Xi jinping spoke 4 highly of the party's contribution to developing bilateral 5 relations between China and Australia.
For his part, Shorten says the Labor Party supports the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two sides, he also says he hopes that cooperation can be brought to a higher level with the construction of a bilateral free trade area taken as an opportunity.
The UN agency in charge of fighting Ebola in West Africa has announced the sudden death of its point man in Guinea.
Rwanda's Marcel Rudasingwa has died just a month after taking on the role of emergency crisis manager in Guinea.
The cause of death is not believed to be related to Ebola.
Rudasingwa was an assistant UN Secretary-General.
He also worked for the U.N. Children's Fund for almost 20 years.
