we are the way we are和we just pick the people we need中包含了两个定语从句。
we are the way we are。这里we are是定语从句修饰前面的先行词the way.通常情况下，the way做先行词，连接词可以用that/in which/省略不填。
we just pick the people we need.这句中，we need是定语从句修饰先行词people.先行词在从句中做宾语，所以可以用关系代词who/that/省略不填。
